Water contaminants resulting in ocean acidificationcan include substances like heavy metals, insecticides, bacteria from sewage, food processing wastes, fertilizers, and chemical wastes among other pollutants. The sources of these contaminants can range from industrial plants to surface runoff to oil spills. Pollution from individual sources, like runoff from lawn fertilizers, may seem like a small amount but it adds up when you consider the millions of yards using fertilizers and other substances.

There are a lot of different things you can do to avoid ocean pollution.
