What makes the best pillow?

24 December 2009

Posted by Ryan,

The best pillow is made from durable, heavy duty, industrial strength fabric commonly used by the military. A woven polyester scrim that is coated on both sides with a polymer alloy is the foundation to the material’s strength, stability, and durability. Pillowcases are easy to make and can be a very nice gift, when it is decorated with embroidery, fabric paints, ribbon, and lace. Pillows are also commonly used to sit on or lean against while sitting on a chair, couch, floor or other surface while reading, talking, visiting on the telephone, watching television or anything else. Regardless of size or shape, a support pillow is an item that is used to provide additional reinforcement for a part or section of the body.

  1. I have found what makes memory foam different is that these pillows are suited for all sleeping types. With traditional pillows, a back sleeper needs to purchase a firm pillow for proper spine alignment while a stomach sleeper tends to need a softer pillow.

  2. The best pillow I have found features a unique distribution of holes throughout the memory foam that allows the pillow to decreases in density continuously as you move from the edge toward the center of the pillow to keep your head, neck, and body in the most natural position, while maintaining a proper spine alignment.

  3. If you want to prolong the life of your pillows you should clean them if possible. Some pillows are machine-washable, like some latex pillows, so take note of the washing guidelines of the pillows you buy.

  4. Unfortunately I found that if you fail to properly care for your pillow this could mean that you could chance destroying it or risk turning it into a lumpy, uncomfortable version of its former self.

  5. I find that regular foam pillows generally only last a couple of years while a good down pillow or high quality memory foam pillows can last up to ten years if it is properly cared for.

  6. I like memory foam because it is made from polyurethane with additional chemicals that add to its viscosity level, that increases its density. Depending on the chemicals that are used and its overall density, memory foam is firmer in cool temperatures and softer when warm.

  7. I like memory foam. Ever since I have seen them at Brookstone in the mall, I have liked them ever since. I like how it conforms to your head, and it never feels uncomfortable at all.

  8. I like pillow that are three hundred thread count and are double stiched. Hungarian goose down it the perfect pillow filling for me. I know it is exotic, but trust me it is the best.
