A Useful Garage Storage System
A classy way to add some pizzazz to your garage is to clean it up and make it sparkle and shine. A garage storage system will help you with your efforts to make your garage more usable and efficient. Of course, simply installing shelves, cabinets, brackets, hooks and drawers won’t cut it if you don’t first take the time to clean up the clutter first and then start to organize what’s left. If you are like most average Americans, your garage is a dumping ground for everything but the kitchen sink. And, maybe that too! The first thing you have to do to get organized is to dispose of damaged and unusable items. Then, sort through what’s left and give away or sell what you can. Finally, put the things that you absolutely can’t part with in categories such as garden tools, holiday decorations, sporting equipment and so on. Next, you need to find a place to put all of the things that you absolutely have to keep. Try putting as many things as you can into bins or boxes that you have marked well. Install hooks and brackets on unused walls and hang up things like rakes, brooms, shovels, sleds, skis, bikes, wagons and wheel barrels. For things that you rarely use, try installing overhead bins up high in your garage. Next, install shelving along walls and put see-through bins on them. That way you will easily be able to find what you’re looking for whenever you need it.
