Converting a Structured Settlement Annuity into a Lump Sum Payment

As a result of a horrific car accident, I am now the recipient of two Structured Settlement Annuities. Yet, for the past three months, I have had various companies contact me about converting the annuities into a lump sum cash settlement. I have no clue what the advantages of this will be so I haven’t committed to anything. My accountant is out of town on vacation and I have told all callers that I must speak to him first. I just hope he gets back soon. I can’t remember if he will be gone for another week or another two weeks. I would like to have this settled.
