I’m Moving Up! – Database Administrator Roles

Taking on a new role in a company can be both confusing and exciting. Being an IT professional, it was very exciting when I was offered a position as an entry level database administrator. I realize that I have a lot to learn about database administrator roles, however, I feel like I am up to the challenge.
My boss is nice enough and willing to teach me everything that I need to know to move up in my database administrator position because he intends on retiring in two years. That should be just enough time for me to get all my certifications in line and gain the experience I need to take on more responsibilities.
