Posted by Cruz,People are hurting during this recession, but you might want to look at it as an opportunity to make a change for the better. How about breaking into the medical field? Consider looking into x-ray tech classes. Radiography is a fine career with good pay and benefits, and jobs available in all 50 states. Spending your work days helping sick people certainly beats shuffling paperwork around for 8 hours at a stretch, and if you’re unemployed, going back to school is a great way to wait out the recession. If it leads to a new, more rewarding career, being unemployed may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Exercise Can Be Fun, Even After Back Surgery

In your efforts to add exercise after back surgery, sometimes it’s difficult to find activities that are fun and still challenging enough for you to want to continue. After all, the number one reason we stop our planned exercise routines is because we become bored with them. For instance, if you are bored with walking around your own neighborhood, try taking a brisk walk a time or two around the mall. You can even walk there when it’s raining! You may want to add a weighted vest to add an added level of difficulty to your walk. Another idea is to walk a dog as you travel around your area. A dog will appreciate the exercise too! Maybe you’re just tired of walking all together; you may want to add something like weight training.

Widespread Confusion Regarding Back Surgery

Medical literature offers this statement regarding the cause of lower back pain: “Even with today’s technology, the exact cause of low back pain can be found in very few cases.” This statement is largely untrue and reflects the widespread confusion regarding the cause of lower back pain in the conventional medical world. The reason for this confusion lies in the non-holistic approach medicine has adopted during the last hundred years. The body is no longer viewed as a whole but rather as an assembly of individual parts. This non-holistic view, combined with the rise of technological advancements, has led to extreme specialization in medicine. While current technologies have provided countless advancements to back surgery, they have done little to ease the pain of millions of lower back pain sufferers.
