Indoor rowing for older athletes is ideal for increasing aerobic capacity despite age related decline. Anybody of any age can benefit from rowing training and it has been shown to increase fitness by to 30%. Highly trained and well conditioned older athletes can have greater aerobic capacity and endurance than sedentary 20 year olds. The sport of rowing has been increasing in popularity for some time and the Concept 2 Rowing challenge has been established for a number of years. The event is organised into 10 year age bands as well as weight and male and female categories.
