Precision Tooling and EDM Machining

Any effective EDM machining department absolutely must have the best precision tooling on hand to do a quality job. It makes no sense at all to invest in an expensive CNC EDM or WEDM and fail to get good tooling.

The automatic tool changer and pallet changer require the use of specific tooling, such as Erowa or System 3R. This type of tooling is designed to integrate with the high speed milling machine, CNC lathe, and EDM machines.

When used properly, they are very precise and dependable. You should be able to move the workpiece and electrode from machine to macine without compromising accuracy.

Not only that, but when the entire shop is using the CNC tools, many hours of inspection are saved. Unlike using tooling in a sort of half manual and half automatice fashion, the tools should be used as they were designed to be used.
