PRINCE2 Project Management One Approach Among Many

As any prince2 project management course will be quick to point out, PRINCE stands for PRojects IN Controlled Environments and is an established method for organizing and managing projects. The 2 is a reference to the second version of the methodology; both grew out of a United Kingdom government effort called PROMPT, which was developed in 1989 as a means for managing computer projects. PRINCE2 is used both inside and outside of computer projects today. The most recent version of PRINCE2 is called PRINCE2: Refresh. PRINCE is widely considered a useful approach to managing and directing large projects, and there are those who use it for smaller projects as well.
